The villa has five bedrooms (four double rooms and one twin room), and all come with air conditioning and their own private bathroom with shower. Bedroom One may be considered the master suite, having the largest bathroom with bathtub and direct access out into a private courtyard garden. The lower ground bedroom is also special as it comes with a spacious open plan living area. Other areas of the house include a opulent pagoda style living room providing a big comfy sofas for a quiet spot for guests, a kitchen, outdoor veranda with seating area and white steps that lead down to the gardens and swimming pool. A library with an extensive book collection is also located in the basement, and a TV room which is accessed via a hidden staircase that leads to a mezzanine level overlooking the drawing room. This is a fun and cosy hideaway to escape for a couple of hours and enjoy the entertainment system.
The style of the property is contemporary with traditional Sri Lankan touches. Airy, high ceiling rooms with white washed walls and grand columns, alongside dark carved wood furniture, large four poster beds, and old teak wood floorboards. Rooms are decorated with antique features, bookcases, floor lamps, and local woven textiles. The formal dining room with a table for ten, perfect for evening dinners, is the most regal room in the house.
The grounds of the villa are a tropical haven, and the entire estate overlooks a well-manicured lawn and stunning swimming pool – from here you may enjoy unbeatable ocean views from its infinity edge. The garden is surrounded by tall swaying palm tress and is stepped, sloping down from the pool towards the beach. The lower lawn has a meditation pavilion, a yoga pavilion, and a sunset pavilion where sundowner cocktails can be enjoyed as the sun dips below the horizon. The beach at the base of the property is perfect for walks along the golden sand, and the sea is lovely for swimming in during high season.
The team of staff looking after the villa and guests are wonderful and include a housekeeper, chef, gardener and a villa manager.
