Lipton’s Seat is a high observation point in the hills of Poonagala, Bandarawela. The Scottish tea baron Sir Thomas Lipton used to survey his burgeoning empire from here.
It is reached by climbing around 8 km, surrounded by peaceful green tea plantations and an occasional colourful tea plucker.
Handapanagala lake, Chandrika lake, Uda walwe lake, Wedi hiti Kanda mountains, and also the Hambanthota harbor located in the in the southern coastal area and five provinces in Sri Lanka can be seen remarkably from this view point.
